Alfred S. "Bunk" Burke, 83, passed away at 12:14 a.m. on May 22, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Bunk was born on October 8, 1928 in Vincennes the son of James and Hazel Burke. Bunk was a truck driver delivering US mail for Mid West Transit. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Bunk also drove a school bus, was a volunteer fireman and enjoyed NASCAR racing. Survivors include, son, Eric Burke of Bridgeport, IL; daughter, Toni Burke of Lawrenceville, IL; son, Marty Burke and his wife Latosha of Sumner, IL; son, Rockie Burke and his wife, Shelley of Vincennes; brothers, John Burke of Vincennes; James Burke and his wife Delores of Vincennes and 10 grandchildren. Bunk was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three half brothers, one sister and one half- sister. Graveside services for Bunk will be held at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will follow.
