Angela Kay (Byrd) Godfrey
Angela was born on May 5, 1952, in Vincennes, IN to William and Sophia (Baker) Byrd, and passed from this mortal realm on Sat., Nov 22nd, 2025, at her home in Vincennes, IN.
Angie was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School, and spent her life as a mother, homemaker, housekeeper, and retired from Lewis Bakery in 2015. She was married to Jack Amos, then to James “Bud” Godfrey, her husband of 47 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers: Michael Dent, Tony Byrd, and Mark Byrd; a sister, Virginia Byrd; both former spouses; and a step-grandson, Jacob Stone of Arlington, TX.
She is survived by her brother, Tracy (Dawn) Byrd, of Vincennes; her three children: Angela (Ray) Watts, Amy (Kevin) Richards of Vincennes, and Joshua (Jameson Deschain) Godfrey of Waxahachie, TX; five grandchildren: Jacob Cooper, Jessica (Zack) Hay, Taylor (Daniel) Stone, Shelby Richards, and Trey (Taylor) Richards; one step-grandchild Jason Stone; and eight great-grandchildren, with a ninth on the way.
Angela's kind heart and gentle character made her beloved by all who knew her. She beat cancer twice, and enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.
May she sleep in light and love, and find joy in her heavenly place.
Services will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway Street, Vincennes, IN on Sat, Nov. 29th, from 2-4 pm. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Angela and her family.
