Anthony “Tony” Eugene Larkin, 71, passed away peacefully in the early morning on September 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Tony was born on July 19, 1955, to the late Daniel P. & Margaret M. (Dwyer) Larkin, in Washington, Indiana.

He was a member of the 1973 graduating class at Washington High School. Following high school, Tony served his country proudly in the United States Navy. On July 25, 1987, he married the love of his life, Kim (Grannan) Larkin, and they shared over 39 years together.

Tony was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington, a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member, a member of the American Legion Post #121, and the VFW Post #3321.

After a tough and complicated cancer battle, God has called Tony home, and his body that fought so hard it is now at rest. Tony Larkin was many things: A Navy Corpsman, a 40+ career coal-lab tech at Indianapolis Power & Light - Petersburg, a provider, certified clean freak, car enthusiast, friend, brother, son, dedicated husband, and triple crowned Girl Dad.

His life was a testament to just how sweet life can be, despite hardship, grief, heartbreak and loss. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel & Margaret; his father-in-law, Carl J. Grannan; his brothers, William “Bill” Larkin, and John Anthony Larkin; and his sister, Cathryn A. Larkin.

Survivors include his wife, Kim (Grannan) Larkin; his daughters, Beth Ann Larkin, Leanna Jane Larkin, and Margaret Jo Larkin; his mother-in-law, Gloria J. Grannan; his brother, Thomas D. Larkin and his wife Mary Jane, sisters-in-law, Kelly Grannan Buckley, and Allyson Hoover and her husband Matt; special aunts Sharon Lucas, and Betty Ruth Jeffers; 4 nephews; 7 nieces; his beloved dog Gracie, and grand dogs Hallie, Quincy & Kemper.

Visitation for Tony will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4:00-7:00pm at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 315 NE 3rd St., Washington, IN 47501. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Tony on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 10:00am with Father Kenneth Walker as celebrant. Following Mass, Tony will be laid to rest in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Catholic Education Endowment Fund. Donation envelopes will be available at the church.
