Barbara Holscher

Barbara Holscher, 77, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away surrounded by her family on May 21, 2025. She was born in Vincennes, Indiana on December 29, 1947, to the late William and Inez (Young) Seitzinger. Barbara graduated from Decker High School in 1965 and continued her education with Vincennes University, graduating in 1968. Barbara worked for many years as a secretary in the International Department for Wabash Valley College making numerous lifelong friendships before retiring. She was a member of the Knox County Homemaker Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Barbara was a proud Decker Alumni and supported both Decker and Decker Chapel Alumni events. Barbara was the Wabash County relay for life chair for many years. This was her passion, not only did she lose her mom to breast cancer but many friends to cancer. Barbara was willing to do anything she could on a personal level to help anyone from losing someone they loved. In her free time, she would bake cupcakes for the local firehouse, crafting, tending her flowers, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her husband. Barbara was very creative and enjoyed projects. If you asked for her help on anything it turned out beyond beautiful. Everything she did was done with love and passion. Barbara was a strong woman who raised even stronger daughters that were her pride and joy. She married her soulmate, Maurice Holscher . They vacationed in Madeira Beach Florida for over 30 years. Barbara will be deeply missed. 

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Inez Seitzinger; and first husband Phillip McGuire.

Barbara is survived by her husband, of 21 years, Maurice Holscher; daughters Deborah Miller and Donna (Glenn) Walters; grandchildren Connor (Elly) Miller, Hannah (Peyton) Lees, Abigail Miller, Halle (Tristin) Bellessa, Garrett (Lauren) Walters, Grayson (Hadley) Walters; great-grandchildren Jett Lees and Gwen Walters; siblings John (Pam) Seitzinger and Ruth Ann (Ted) Haynes; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Holscher. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 19, 2025, from 1-4 pm at the Decker Chapel Community Building.
