Barbara E. Richards

Barbara E. Richards, 65, a beloved artist, cherished matriarch, and devoted family member, passed away peacefully from natural causes on December 24, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Barbara is the daughter to Donald and Evelyn Beard and was born on February 15, 1959.

Born with a passion for art, Barbara was proud of the many awards she received for her paintings and artwork during her high school years. This talent blossomed into a lifelong pursuit of creativity, which she joyfully shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether it was through painting, crocheting, or baking, Barbara found immense joy, often engaging in projects with her family that forged lasting memories.

Barbara's greatest treasures were her family, especially her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her unwavering love and support touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she inspired.

Surviving Barbara is her loving husband of 45 years, Fred Richards; brother, Darrell Beard; daughter, April Hacker (Eric); stepson, Kevin Richards (Amy); grandchildren, Taylor Stone (Daniel), Shelby Richards, Trey Richards, Kaityln Elmore (Damon), Aleesha Sherman, and Lyndon Hacker; and 11 great grandchildren with one on the way.

A visitation to honor Barbara's life will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home in Vincennes on January 13, 2025, from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.

In celebrating her life, we remember Barbara Richards as a beacon of love, creativity, and family devotion. She will be profoundly missed but will continue to inspire all who knew her.
