Bernie Osmon 89 of Washington passed away August 26th at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was born August 14, 1936 to Rex and Berniece (Sheetz) Osmon.

He attended Epsom High school until his senior year and graduated from Plainville High School. In 1954. On August 19, 1956 he married Linda Chestnut, his high school sweetheart, and they were married 69 years. He was employed at McCord Corporation for 20 years until the company closed. He then worked as a carpenter and later retired from the Maintenance Department of Daviess Community Hospital in 1999. After retirement he drove for Senior Family Services. He was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church where he was a trustee for several years.

He loved to attend grandchildren's sporting events and was an avid fan of North Daviess Cougars sports, Indiana University athletics, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He attended the Indianapolis 500 for 50 years.

Bernie is survived by his wife; children Darla (Bryan) Beuhler, David (Melissa) Osmon, Mark(Lori) Osmon; grandchildren, Brandon (Kellie) Osmon, Hillary (Dan) Kissel, Alexandra (Andrew) Bates, Lauren Osmon, Makayla (Dalton) Ervin and Haley Osmon; great grandchildren, Liam Osmon, Sutton Kissel, Griffin Bates, Greyson & Stella Ervin.

Also surviving are his sisters Karen Rehrman and Sherry (Ken) Scott, sisters-in law Rita (Jerry) Hawkins, Marlene (Art) Turner and several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Larry & his wife, Janet Osmon, brothers-in-law, Ronald Rehrman and Jack Chestnut.

In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the Plainville United Methodist church or a donation of your choice.

Funeral services will be held at Goodwin-Sievers funeral home on September 2, 2025, at 1 pm. Family and friends can visit from 10 am to service time. Burial at Sugarland Memory Garden will follow immediately.
