Betty L. Hart, a beloved matriarch and vibrant member of her community, passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on December 13, 1939, she enriched the lives of those around her with her warmth, dedication, and spirited personality.

Betty's professional journey began as a homemaker, a role she cherished deeply. Her commitment to family was paralleled by her active involvement in the Laborers Union and her contributions at the State Highway Department. Throughout her career, Betty exemplified hard work and perseverance, earning the respect of her colleagues and peers.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Betty was known for her nurturing spirit. She had a profound love for her family, particularly her grandkids, and was a devoted pet owner to her cat, Wiley. Betty's passion for life extended to her hobbies; she found joy in gardening and had a special appreciation for flowers. Travel also held a prominent place in her heart, allowing her to explore new places and create lasting memories.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters Carolyn "Kit" (Ron) Hudson, Connie Shofner, and Cathy Shofner; her sons Tom (Pauline) Shofner and Jeff Shofner; her brother Larry Neidigh; as well as an impressive lineage that includes 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Each of these individuals carries a part of her spirit forward, a testament to the legacy she leaves behind.

She is preceded in death by her husband Terry Hart, her father Eugene Neidigh, her mother Geraldine Ford, her son Ken Shofner; and her siblings Janice Searcy and Gerald Neidigh. Their memories will continue to be cherished by those who remain.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on December 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Goodwin-Sievers Family Funeral Home located at 524 Broadway Street, Vincennes, IN 47591. Betty will be laid to rest next to her Husband Terry in Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Betty and her family.
