Carol G. Bowman

Carol G. (Moon) Bowman, 95, passed away peacefully at 3:49 am on October 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on April 20, 1930, in Vincennes the daughter of Roy S. and Lois (Highsmith) Moon. She married Arthur “Art” Bowman, and he preceded her in death.

Carol retired as Office Manager for Art Bowman Contracting and was a homemaker. She was an active lifelong member of Reel Avenue Christian Church which later became Franklin Heights Christian Church, and later in life she attended Central Church of Christ.

Carol was active in the community with her music for many years. She often played for weddings and funerals, and she could also be found playing at nursing homes, schools, and church. Some of her hobbies included sewing, knitting, bowling, and forty plus years of square dancing.

Survivors include her children, Steve Bowman and his wife Merry Kaye of Vincennes, Linda Nesbitt of Vincennes, Glenda Watson and her husband Bill of Sullivan, Randall Bowman and his wife Evelyn of Gainesville, GA, Mary Cay Martin and her husband Paul of Vincennes, Christina Smith and her husband John of Bloomington, IN; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Roy, and Lois Moon, three brothers, Jerald, Robert, Harold, four sisters, Robertine, Joyce, Gloria, Joan, her husband, Art Bowman and a grandson, Matthew Bowman.

Private graveside services will be held with Pastor Phil Nuernberger officiating and Carol will be laid rest next to her husband Art in Memorial Park Cemetery.
