Cecil H. Grubb Jr., of Washington, Indiana, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on December 12, 2025. He was born on December 22, 1938, to the late Cecil & Anna (Jones) Grubb in Oakland City, Indiana.
Cecil was a 1956 graduate of Oakland City High School. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years before returning home. After his return home, he married Marcia (Hamm) Grubb on July 21, 1962, and they spent over 50 years together before her passing on November 13, 2018.
Cecil worked at Crane Naval Base for many years and then worked for Digitron selling digital equipment. He was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge #1080 up until it’s closure. He loved anything that involved racing, going to Evansville to the casino, and watching his grandson go-kart race. In his younger years, Cecil liked to go hunting and golfing. The most important thing to Cecil was his family, and he loved to spend time with them.
Survivors of Cecil include his wife, Monica Grubb; his daughter-in-law, Candace Grubb and her fiancé Kent York; his grandchildren, Christin Wyant and her husband Levi, Nikki Ice and her husband Ethan, April Bruce and her husband John, and Adam Grubb and his fiancée Ciara Hornaday; his great-grandchildren, Landen Wyant, Bristal Grubb, Sophie Bruce, Spencer Bruce, Paislee Ice, Gemma Ice, and Colter Ice; his sisters, Shirley Selby, and Barbara Hampton; his brothers, Mike Grubb, Jerry Grubb and his wife Rhonda, and Allen Grubb; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia (Hamm) Grubb; his son, Nicky Grubb; and his parents, Cecil and Anna; his sister, Roberta Eberhard; and his siblings in law, Rick Hampton, and Martha Grubb.
Visitation for Cecil will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 11:00-1:00pm ET at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm at the conclusion of visitation. Following the service, Cecil will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
