Cheryl J. Price, 73, of Washington, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2025. She was born in Washington, Indiana, on July 25, 1952, to the late Dale and Eva Alford. Cheryl married the love of her life, Arthur Price, on December 20, 1975. She graduated from Washington High School in 1971, continued her education at Oakland City College, earning her bachelor's degree, and obtained her master's degree from Indiana State University.

Music was central to Cheryl’s life. For over 40 years, she taught countless elementary music students at Washington Community Schools. Her musical journey began when she started learning to play the piano at the age of 3. During her Oakland City College years, she accompanied musicals and performed at recitals. As an adult, Cheryl directed many community singing groups, including Praise and Wings. Cheryl co-wrote and directed the Barr-Reeve High School Senior Class musicals for 15 years. Over the years, Cheryl helped direct several Washington High School musicals, directed several community musicals, performed at Veale Creek Theater, and was involved in ISSMA choir and band competitions. Cheryl also directed the choir and played piano at First Baptist and Otterbein United Methodist Church.

Cheryl’s community contributions were not limited to music. Cheryl’s kids were very involved with soccer, and she managed many of the teams coached by Artie, her husband. Always willing to give and build community, Cheryl helped with Angel Bakers and attended small groups. She found a church home at Bethany Christian Church, where she faithfully attended. For fun, she sewed and cross-stitched. Her real passion was spending time with her family, whom she cherished dearly. Her family and community will deeply miss Cheryl.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Eva Alford; siblings, Lenora Hart and Carolyn Traylor; and in-laws, Paula Watimena, Bruce Ingle, Ed Hart, Gordon Traylor, and Dr. Thomas Ringer. Those left to treasure her memory are her husband of 49 years, Arthur Price; children Anthony (Sachet) Price, Alicia (Mark) Dobbyn, Adam (Chelsea) Price; grandchildren Zane Price, Quinn Price, Ava Price, Tanner (Kaitlin) Dobbyn, Trevor (Emily Allen) Dobbyn, Taylor Dobbyn, Natalie (Easton) Peters, Turner Dobbyn, Declan Price; great-grandson Baby Peters; niece Patricia Ingle; in-laws Janet Ringer, Leo Watimena, Ralph (Lyn) Price; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
