Constance Sue Woods, 76, passed away May 16, 2026.

Born on March 4, 1950 in Princeton, Indiana, Connie was preceded in death by her parents Art and Mary Ann Schuessler.

Connie is survived by her husband of 49 years Tom, son Tommy, beloved Grandson Arthur, sisters Judy Blackburn (Charles) and Sandy Dubuque (Gary), and special friends April and Kingston Smith.

Connie was a graduate of Boonville High School and attended Indiana State University where she received her Bachelor's and Master's in Education. In college, Connie was a Theta Xi little sister which she cherished.

Connie's passion in life was working with children. She taught several grades in Luce Elementary School in Spencer County. She taught at Alma Shrader Elementary School until the birth of her only child, Tommy, in 1983.

In 1988, Connie moved with Tom to Vincennes, IN. As Tommy got older, Connie volunteered at Franklin Elementary School in Vincennes, volunteered with the Cub Scouts, and volunteered with Clark Middle School.

Connie taught religion class at St Vincent de Paul in Vincennes. Connie was blessed with kindness, patience, and empathy. Connie loved children and they loved her. She had the rare ability to keep children engaged and smiling while educating them.

Connie worked in the office at Lewis Bakeries, was in the Alter Society and otherwise very involved with St. Vincent, and was involved in many ladies groups and community activities until health related issues prevented her from doing so.

Connie loved her family and cherished family gatherings at Barkley Lake and Evansville.

Connie enjoyed traveling. She fondly remembered sight-seeing the U.S. and Canada, often van camping with her husband and son when she was younger. She enjoyed taking cruises, touring historical churches, and cherished her time with Arthur in Greece, Spain, and Portugal, where they visited Fatima.

She visited the Vatican in Rome, to tour Italy, to see her family in Germany, and see the pyramids in Egypt.

Connie enjoyed going to see the St. Louis Cardinals and University of Notre Dame football games. She was able to attend several World Series games and always rooted for the Cardinals.

Connie was a devoted Catholic who cherished her faith and her family.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 20th, from 5-8 p.m. at Goodwin-Sievers Family Funeral Home in Vincennes. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21st.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Francis Xavier Parish, 106 S. 3rd Street, Vincennes, In 47591 or the Davidson Cemetery Perpetual Care, 9643 W. County Rd., 350 N., Hazelton, IN 47640.
