It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Lee Helpingstine, age 72, who departed this life on September 13, 2026, in his cherished hometown of Vincennes, Indiana. Born on February 13, 1954, David was a loving husband, devoted brother, and a beloved friend to many.

David was the son of Robert and Mary Helpingstine and dedicated much of his life to serving others as a food worker at Good Samaritan Hospital, where his warm smile and kind spirit touched the lives of both colleagues and patrons alike. A man of simple pleasures, David found joy in the comfort of classic westerns, particularly those featuring legends such as John Wayne, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers. He had a deep appreciation for nature and relished camping and horseback riding during his younger years, as well as fishing in the serene waters of his hometown.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Helpingstine, who he married on October 13. 1990 and brought light and love into his life. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Banks, and his half-brother, Jack Hartley, Sr. Though he was preceded in death by sisters Patty, Karen, Robin, and Linda, David leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews who adored him.

David Lee Helpingstine will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and warmth he so freely gave to others.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of David and his family.
