Dennis Howder

Dennis F. Howder, 68, of Vincennes, IN passed away on December 12, 2025. He was born to the late Hubert and Mary Ann Howder in Peoria, IL on January 17, 1957. Dennis married the love of his life, Shelia Wirth, on December 18, 1976. He worked for the Vincennes Water Utilities for 43 years. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams IU, Colts, and Cardinals; playing basketball and softball; coaching cub league; cooking; maintaining his yard; vegetable gardening; and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all.

Dennis is preceded in death by his father Hubert Howder; mother Mary Ann Cullop; siblings Hubert J. Howder and Sandy (Steve) Heath; brother-in-law William Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Sheila Howder; children Dr. Joshua (Dr. Seelye Parker) Howder, Shannon Howder; grandchildren Benjamin Howder, William Howder, Brylinn Howder, Elizabeth Howder; great-grandchildren Xamari Howder and Waylin McCrary; siblings Gloria Howder, Teresa Merydith, Brian Cullop; sister-in-law Sondra Howder; siblings-in-law Steve (Rose) Codgill, Mack Wirth, Melissa Johnson, Doug (Carole) Wirth; and several nieces and nephews.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Howder. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 5-8 pm and Friday from 12-1 pm at 524 Broadway Street. The Funeral Service will begin promptly at 1 pm on Friday and burial will be held at Memorial Park immediately following.
