It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Donald George Myers, who left us peacefully on October 27, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on December 27, 1931, in Monroe City, Indiana, he is the son of Theadore and Mary Alice (Myers) Myers. Donald married Merrydyth Day on October 15, 1949, and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2016.
Donald was actively involved with the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church and overseeing Walnut Grove Cemetery for many years. He had a rewarding career, working at the Vincennes Sun Commercial and Vincennes Steel before retiring from IP & L after an impressive twenty-seven years. Donald was also a proud member of the Monroe City Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.
An avid sports fan, Donald particularly loved basketball and enjoyed spending time outdoors, rabbit hunting with his beloved dogs. He was known for raising hogs and had a special knack for finding joy in simple pleasures.
Traveling the country and even venturing abroad with his beloved wife, Merrydyth, brought him immense happiness, but nothing compared to the joy he found in his family. Donald cherished the time spent with his family and treasured every moment with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters, Penny Gail Bishop of Worcester, England, Prudence G. Wynn and her husband Robert "Bob" of Oakland, IL; son Andrew "Drew" Day Myers and his wife Lori of Monroe City; his grandchildren, Brady Deckard, Aaron Deckard, Colby Deckard, Gail Kent, Claire Hancher, Ian Wynn, Emily Tillis, Maddie Burris, Hannah Karl, Libby Miller; as well as fifteen great grandchildren. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Theadore and Mary Alice Myers, his wife Merrydyth Myers, daughter, Peggy Deckard and his son Gregory Don Myers.

Governors Road, Monroe City, IN 47557 with Tim Riker officiating. Donald will be laid to rest in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
