Dorothy Jean (Clinton) Baldwin, 99, of Washington, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her youngest grandson by her side on March 22, 2026, at Parkview Christian Village in Odon.
She was born on October 9, 1926, to the late Daniel J. & Lula (Fettic) Clinton in Plainville, Indiana.
Dorothy was the youngest of 10 children. She attended Plainville High School and was a member of the 1944 graduating class.
In 1951, Dorothy married the love her life, Earl Logan Baldwin, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1983.
Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper during her working career, and she was employed by McCord’s, Uniroyal, Daviess Community Hospital, and lastly at Farm Bureau, all in Washington. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Washington, and she was a faithful servant of her Lord. Dorothy spent many hours dedicated to volunteering with RSVP, and for many years as well at North Elementary School in Washington. She was the life of the party and made everything in life more fun. She loved to mow her grass, work in her flower garden, and walking at the park, whether with her furry companion or her sister Joy. The Indiana Hoosier’s and Indiana Pacer’s were her favorite teams, and she spent many hours nervous wringing her hands while watching. Dorothy was the best mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Logan Baldwin; her parents, Daniel & Lula; her brothers, Orrell, Gilbert, Jay, Carl, & Ray Clinton; her sisters, Hazel (Clinton) Daugherty, Louise (Clinton) Theyssen, Ruth (Clinton) Hanlon, & Joy (Clinton) Cunningham; her grandson, Daniel J. Baldwin; and her great-great-granddaughters, Tennlee Baldwin, and Chloe Roussel.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Theresa) Baldwin, Betty (Nolan) Ryan, and John (Becky) Baldwin; her grandchildren, Natalie (Brian) Davis, Libby (Chris) Mitchell, Jenny (Kurt) Kramer, Casey (Kelly) Strange, Lori (John) Roussel, Michael (Becky) Strange, Ben Baldwin and his fiancée Melissa, Jamie (Josh) Fergus, Jessica Baldwin, Melissa Baldwin, Jeff Baldwin, and Clinton Baldwin and his fiancée Faith; her great-grandchildren, Olivia Fergus, Mack Fergus, Cooper (Sierra) Davis, Maggie Davis, Sophia Mitchell, Cecelia Mitchell, Maric Kramer, Macauley Kramer, Clair Strange, Katie Strange, Trevor Roussel, Ian Roussel, Gretchen (Wayman) Brown, Logan Baldwin, Jazmyn Mosley, Isaiah Baldwin, and Brynlee Jean Claude; her great-great-grandchildren, Natalie, Logan, Hadley, and Lucy Brown, and Savion Osiris Baldwin.
Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 10:00-1:00pm ET at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. At the conclusion of visitation, a funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Tim Baxter officiating. Following the service, Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband Earl and Sugarland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Parkview Christian Care, and donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
