It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn Genevieve Mounts, who left this world peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on January 2, 1926, in Ackeron, Ohio, Evelyn was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who brought joy and warmth to everyone around her.

Evelyn cherished her family deeply, and her love was felt in every stitch she sewed and every meal she lovingly prepared. Known for her incredible cooking and sewing skills, she turned everyday moments into cherished memories. Her voice, sweet and uplifting, filled her home as she sang her favorite gospel songs, a testament to her vibrant spirit and faith.

Evelyn is survived by her children Brenda Thompson, Charles Michael Mounts, Mark Mounts wife Jennifer, and her loving grandchildren Jacob Lee Mounts and Carla Davis. Though she may be gone, her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Francis Mounts, her parents Francis Ross, Calia Pruitt Ross, her four siblings Bob Ross, Vonda Wilson, Bill Ross, and Gretta Matsel.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Evelyn’s life and say their goodbyes at her funeral services, which will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM. at the First Christian Church in Owensville.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 11:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will follow in the Owensville City Cemetery in Owensville, Indiana. Officiating will be Rev. Bobby Joe Douglas, Rev. Jack Gaston, and Gary Ross. 

We invite everyone who loved Evelyn to join us in this moment of remembrance as we honor a truly special soul who touched so many lives. Your presence will help us celebrate the life of a remarkable woman.
