Evie May Purry, born on March 26, 1961, in Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Evansville, Indiana. She was the daughter of Earl and Wanda B. (Wright) McCullough. Evie married Tommie Purry on May 2, 2003.
Evie dedicated many years of her life to working at Wal-Mart, where her kind spirit and bright smile touched the lives of many. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her beautiful garden, where she found joy in nurturing plants and connecting with the earth.
A devoted animal lover, Evie shared her home and heart with her two cherished dogs, Kattie and Lilly, who brought her endless happiness and companionship. Evie's greatest source of pride and joy was her family, and she lit up with joy whenever spent time with her grandson Walker. She adored her husband, Tommie Purry, and created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. Her kindness and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all her loved ones and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Tommie Purry of Evansville; her sons, Trae Peach of Dover, Delaware, Clayton Peach and his wife Taylor of Bedford, Indiana, Daniel Peach and his wife Marisa of Vincennes, Indiana; her sister, Earlene Potter of Washington, Indiana; brother, Gwyles of McCordsville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Amaya Morales, Noah Peach, Josephine Peach, and Walker Peach. Evie is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Wanda McCullough, her sister, Maxine Branham and her brother-in-law, Kelly Potter.
Funeral services celebrating Evie's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring her memory and sharing stories of the joy she brought to our lives with a visitation from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Friday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. We will cherish the moments we had with Evie and the impact she made on our hearts. The Purry family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to It Takes a Village or St. Vincent de Paul Society. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Evie and her family.
