Florence Regina (Beltz) Siewers, 85, of rural Vincennes passed away on January 28, 2026, at Gentle Care of Vincennes after a six-year battle with dementia. Flo was born on January 16, 1941, in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Raymond and Violet (Marchino) Beltz. Her father was known his entire life as "John" purportedly because his father couldn't remember the name Raymond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bosco; her parents; a brother, John Wayne Beltz, along with his wife Willa; and her sister-in-law, Rosemary (Siewers) Williams. She grew up on Bayou Street in Vincennes, attended LaSalle School, and graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1958, although she would ultimately become a diehard South Knox fan.

After high school, she attended Vincennes University and graduated in 1960 with an associate's degree in education. At that time, only an associate's degree was needed to teach in Illinois, so she entered the workforce teaching elementary school near Chicago. She attended Indiana State University during the summers while teaching, and then ultimately full-time, obtaining her bachelor's degree and master's degree in Elementary Education. After finishing her education, Flo obtained a job teaching elementary school in Miami Gardens, Florida, where she taught for several years. While teaching in Florida, her father, John, who worked at Blackford Glass Factory in Vincennes where the Indiana Military Museum is currently located, became ill, and she returned to Vincennes to teach at Harrison School and assist her parents.

Large chunks of glass from the furnaces at Blackford Glass adorned Flo's landscaping during her adult life and are in the landscaping of her only child, Dan, today. While teaching at Harrison School, she had a first-grade student named Renee Williams who would later become her niece. Renee's mother, Rosemary (Siewers) Williams, was the sister of Donald Lee Siewers, who Flo would meet at the Knox County Fair through knowing Renee from class. Donald was known as "Bosco" his entire life because it had been his father, Donald Henry's nickname, and a friend of his father's referred to him as "little Bosco" in his crib as an infant.

Bosco and Flo were married on November 18, 1972, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Vincennes, IN. Flo was a lifelong Presbyterian despite attending Catholic mass with her husband and only child weekly for decades. Bosco and Flo's only child, Daniel Lang Siewers, was born in 1974, and Flo retired from full-time teaching. Flo became a full-time farm hand, driving tractors and trucks, and farming 550 acres alongside her husband for over 20 years until his retirement in 1996. She also substitute taught extensively in the South Knox School Corporation for many years, to the chagrin of her son, while he attended school there. She later worked at the Vincennes University Bookstore for nearly twenty years helping students and keeping up on the gossip. She ultimately left the workforce to care for Bosco who was suffering from dementia and passed away on May 13, 2014, after 41 years of marriage.

Flo traveled extensively as a young woman, continued to do so while Bosco was able, and then did so after his passing; and she fostered a love for travel in her only child. Flo and Bosco drove to Alaska twice, sailed the Panama Canal, and toured the South Pacific and Australia. Flo went to Israel with her niece, Wendy Beltz, after Bosco's passing; and she loved a good bus trip with her friends, including one to Canada when she forgot her passport, and her son frantically drove it to Indianapolis while everyone on the bus waited.

Flo will be missed by her family, but they are confident that there is a trail of Kleenex from here to heaven; and that upon arrival, Flo found a box of Kleenex and then proceeded to introduce everyone she knows to anyone there they haven't already met.

Flo is survived by her son, Dan Siewers, and his wife Karla of Vincennes; her grandsons Jacob Siewers and Justin Siewers; her brother-in-law, Norman Williams; and her nieces and nephews, Timothy Beltz, Joseph Beltz, Wendy Beltz, John Beltz, Andrea (Williams) Perrott, and Renee (Williams) Augsburger. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Gentle Care for the loving care they provided to Flo for nearly six years.

The family will receive friends on February 7, at 1:30 p.m. prior to a service at 2:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1837 S. Hart St. Rd., Vincennes, IN followed by burial at St. Vincent's (Highland) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Knox Education Foundation. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Flo and her family.
