It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Scott Thomas who passed away on April 17, 2025. Scott, a beloved husband, father, and friend, was esteemed for his warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Born on January 9, 1944, Scott was the son of Lilian (Middleton) Thomas.
Scott was a gifted storyteller and a master of jokes, bringing joy and laughter to everyone around him. His ability to uplift spirits and forge connections through laughter was a hallmark of his character. He was truly a jack of all trades, a skilled craftsman who could fix anything and everything. Scott took immense pride in helping his family and friends, even remodeling the houses of his children and grandchildren as he taught them with love and expertise.
Scott served as a Boy Scout leader during his son Brian's formative years, cherishing moments spent on outdoor adventures, including two memorable trips to Canada with the scouts. His commitment to family and community was evident in every aspect of his life, especially in the way he cherished his wife, Pat, and their children. His love for them was profound and unwavering.
Scott dedicated many years to his career as a team leader at Toyota until his well-deserved retirement. His work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence were admired by many, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of his colleagues.
Scott is survived by his wife, Pat Thomas; children, Erika Thomas Goble and husband Johnny, Brian Thomas, and Alicia Thomas; sister, Dora Faye Shelley; grandchildren, Hunter and his wife Brooke Goble, Richie and his wife Mariah Kennedy, Abigale Goble, Levi and his wife Jana McKinnon, Jewel and her husband Joey Anderson, and Jake Thomas, 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Scott is preceded by his mother, Lilian Thomas; sisters, Winnie Schmidt and Levona Grace Eichelman; and brother, James Wilson Thomas.
A visitation for Scott will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Following the service, Scott will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Scott.
