Helen Lucille McCord, 87, of Vincennes, Indiana went to be with the Lord, July 19, 2025. She was born March 23, 1938, in Bicknell, Indiana to the late Russell Sr. and Cora (Near) McCarter. Helen graduated from Fritchton High School in 1956 and was a cheerleader and baton twirler during her time there. She married the love of her life, Jerry McCord, on August 31, 1957. Helen was a hard worker and worked for several employers throughout her life. She first started with Piper's Grocery Store before moving to Sullivan to be a homemaker and custodian for some of the local businesses. She continued her career with her husband as they owned and operated Arab Termite & Pest for 16 years before retiring and continuing with selling candles for Celestial and Heavenly Scents for 19 years.

Although Helen enjoyed her jobs her true passion was her faith. She was a proud member of the Calvary Apostolic Church, where she helped serve with Sunday School and Bus Ministry. She loved being involved with all the church activities and would often volunteer when she could. Helen also enjoyed making candies, flower arrangements, and crafts. She will be deeply missed.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents Russell Sr. and Cora McCarter; son-in-law Leon Gill; sister Grace Gilbert; brothers Russell Jr. "Bud" McCarter, Robert "Robbie" McCarter, Harold "Buck" McCarter, Marvin "Dink" McCarter, Walter "Joe" McCarter, and Mack McCarter.

She is survived by her husband, of 67 years, Jerry McCord; children Judy Gill, Sherry (Ron) Williams, Sam (Tracy) McCord; grandchildren Amy (Jason) Jeffers, Brianna Williams, McKinsey (Alarik) Anderson, Morgan (Luke) Hockensmith; great-grandchildren Noel and Kennedy Jeffers, Raelynn and Mason Williams, Saylah Anderson, Maylee Hockensmith; brother Jack McCarter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. McCord. Visitation will be held July 23, 2025, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home Vincennes from 11 to 1 pm. A Funeral Service will begin promptly at 1 pm with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery following immediately.

Memorial donations can be made to the Tupelo Children's Mansion, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Calvary Apostolic Church.
