Janice Holder Boyles

Janice K (Holder) Boyles peacefully passed on March 4th, 2026, at her home in Carmel, Indiana. Janice was a family first mother, who worked tirelessly to ensure the health, safety and happiness of her immediate family. We are all grateful for the guidance, support, encouragement and love she so generously gave to all of us throughout her wonderful life.

Janice is survived by her son, James C Boyles, Carmel, Indiana, several nephews, nieces and a cousin. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, James M Boyles, her late daughter, Vicki L. Davis, and her sister Rosalie Ann Goodwin. Janice was born on 11-1-1940. (All Saints Day), and here parents were Ermel C Holder and Freda Huff (Pruitt, Holder).

Janice was employed by TJ Maxx Distribution Center in Evansville, Indiana for twenty years, retiring in 2004 to care for daughter Vicki. She previously worked in retail at Clarks Shoes, Pages, and 3D in Vincennes, Indiana. Janice enjoyed her purposeful career at TJ's, having traveled to Boston, Hilton Head, and Las Vegas to as a consultant. She made many, many close friends at TJ's and enjoyed keeping in touch with them over the years.

She was an avid reader, baker, and enjoyed taking care of her flowers, home projects, and pet sitting for friends and family.

Janice lived a courageous life having supported her daughter through a double transplant and battling her own illnesses over the past year. Her close friends and family relied on her as a good listener, advisor and occasional problem solver.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Janice's life at a graveside service at Wildwood Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana on May 2nd, 2026, at 1pm. Donations to your local humane society or pet shelter are encouraged as well as the IU Health Transplant program in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Janice, we miss you now, our hearts are sore. As time goes by, we miss you more. Your loving smile, gentle face, no one can fill your vacant place. We are all comforted that you will forever rest in peace, so richly deserved for such a strong, resilient and loving soul.
