Joanne "Dodie" Shafer

Joanne "Dodie" Prullage Shafer, 92, of Vincennes, passed away at 8:00 am Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the New Willow Manor.She was born January 27, 1926 in Knox County to Dr. Robert Gardner and Gertrude (Benner) Moore.Joanne was a Registered X-Ray Technician at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, Illinois for 25 years. Her memberships included the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and several other organizations, along with being a graduate of DePauw University.Surviving are her daughters, Cynthia Ann Higgin of Naperville, IL, Janet Michele Prullage of Robinson, IL, and Vicki Joanne Murray of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jonathan Shafer, whom she married July 27, 1987 and preceded her on October 12, 1990; a brother, Robert G. Moore Jr.; a sister, Mary Ellen Burklin; a great grandson, Lane Goodwin; and a nephew, Robert G. Moore III.Burial will be announced at a later date.
