John William Arnold was born on November 21, 1944, in Tell City, Indiana to Carl and Leoma Arnold, who preceded him in death. John passed away on July 30, 2026.

John's journey was marked by his love for his family, friends; new and lifelong, personal and professional achievements, and his deep love for the game of golf.

John's early life in Tell City shaped much of who he became. Born at home, he was the son of hardworking and dedicated parents who provided a strong foundation in life. He graduated from Tell City High School in 1963. He participated in baseball and football and was proud of his team's achievements, especially of the Marksmen's 1961 State Finals basketball team. After high school he joined the Georgia Tech basketball program where he participated for two years and then transferred on to Indiana State University.

Eventually, John's path led him to Vincennes, Indiana where he started an advertising business and later a Real Estate Brokerage that he operated until he retired in 2007.

John will be remembered by his family as a devoted son and brother, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Those who knew him as a friend will remember John as a competitor with contagious confidence who loved to laugh. The annual golf outing, "the Big Match", with his lifelong friends was truly a treasure to him.

Survived by his wife Sharon Arnold, siblings Gary (Melissa) Arnold and Nancy (Art) Hodde; son Craig (Monica Brower) Arnold; stepsons Adam Ritcheson and Heath (Sarah) Ritcheson; grandchildren Austin (Alex) Baumgart, Savannah (Chad Forsythe) Arnold, and Connor Arnold; step grandchildren Hadleigh (Noah) Alford and Aria Ritcheson; great-grandchildren Brody Arnold, Everlee Forsythe, Madeline Baumgart, and Ivory Forsythe.

Friends may visit with his family from 3-6 pm on Monday August 3, 2026, at Goodwin-Sievers, 2020 State St, Washington, IN. Service will follow at 6 pm. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of John and his family.
