John L. Fischer, 83, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away on January 28, 2026. He was born in Princeton, Indiana to the late Raymond and Vaunda Fischer on February 28, 1942, and was raised in Oakland City. John was a graduate of the Oakland City High School class of 1960. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. John and his lifelong companion proudly owned and operated the Accent Shop, selling bridal and other merchandise, in Vincennes for 42 years before their retiring. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church. In his free time, John enjoyed playing cards, playing piano, tending his yard, spending time with his cats, and taking care of Bill. He will be deeply missed.
John is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Vaunda Fischer; siblings Raymond Fischer Jr., Phillip Fischer, Cynthia (Dr. Glenn) Ross; and nephew Michael Fischer.
He is survived by his nephew Max (Michelle) Fischer, niece Lisa Cobb; cousin Michael Tooley; and several other extended family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026, in St. John Catholic Church at noon. Burial will follow immediately after at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish or Knox County Mental Health Association.
