John Frady went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2026, at the age of 79. John was born on April 5, 1947, in Raglesville, IN, the son of Harold and Bessie (Wagoner) Frady. John married the love of his life, Lana (Cornelius) Frady on August 26, 1967. They shared 59 special years together. They had two sons, Trent Jonathan and Todd William Frady.

John was a man of deep faith and was very active in church throughout his life. He was baptized in 1983. His dedication to the church touched countless lives. He served as an elder and taught Sunday School. John was active in the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus community and made and donated thousands of handmade wooden crosses for the attendees of the weekend events.

John loved woodworking and construction work. One of his most famous projects was the rebuilding of his Uncle Raymond’s log cabin which log by log he relocated and rebuilt from Crawford to Daviess County. He was extremely talented in carpentry, building many pieces of furniture; and building his home as well as doing construction on other homes. He also enjoyed gardening, outdoor activities, and watching his grandkids play sports.

John graduated from the Odon High School class of 1965. In 1969 he graduated with an educational degree in Industrial Arts from Indiana State University. Later he received his master’s degree in Industrial Arts from Indiana State University. John retired from Washington Community Schools where he taught shop class for 34 years. Many of the kids he taught remember taking a deer lamp and a toolbox while participating. John also spent many years coaching local youth in basketball and baseball.

John was the happiest being a family man and spending time with his family. He loved watching sports including the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

John is survived by his loving wife, Lana Frady of Washington; sister Lois Ann Finster (Dennis) of Greenwood; his children and their families, daughter-in-law Brandy Frady of Bloomfield & Todd (Andrea) Frady of Washington; his grandchildren, Hannah (Mitchell) Gray, Caleb Frady, Nathan Frady, Tyler Frady, Zachary Frady, and Landon Frady. He was preceded in death by his son, Trent Frady; parents, Harold and Bessie Frady; and his sisters, Ellen Fuhrman and Helen Vermillion.
