John Lemme

John R. Lemme, 87, of Oaktown, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Oak Village in Oaktown, Indiana. He was born May 25, 1935, in Shelbyville, Indiana to Herbert and Kinga "Kink" (Kunkel) Lemme. A member of the St. Francis Xavier Church, he was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are his wife Vivian "Rudy"(Cardinal) Lemme whom he married June 30, 1956; his daughter Sherrie Pierce of Sullivan; a sister Jane Lamb of Hawaii; his granddaughter Ashley Shorter and her husband Kyle of Sullivan; and a great granddaughter Everly Shorter of Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Jim, Don, and Bill Lemme; and his son in-law Larry Pierce. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or to Oak Village Nursing Center.
