John C. Schulze, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on March 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on November 12, 1959, in Vincennes, Indiana, John was the son of William "Bill" and Selma Schulze. He graduated from Rivet High School in 1978 and Vincennes University in 1980.
On July 29, 1989, John married his best friend, Jody Harrison. Together, they formed a blended family with Breeze, Laura, Eric, and Quinten at its center. John was a devoted husband, a steady and guiding father, and a proud and loving grandfather.
A faithful member of Saint Francis Xavier Parish, John lived his life grounded in faith, humility, and quiet strength. He dedicated his career to working as a Tool and Diemaker, taking pride in his craftsmanship and strong work ethic. He continued working until his diagnosis with ALS, facing his illness with courage and dignity.
While he valued his work, John's greatest joy was his family. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, whether attending activities, sharing stories, or simply being together. Family vacations to Kentucky Lake were especially dear to him - times filled with laughter and lasting memories. John's life was a testament to love, faith, hard work, and devotion to family.
John is survived by his wife, Jody; their children: Breeze (Terry) Johnson of Vincennes, IN; Laura Schulze of Evansville, IN; Eric (Nettie) Wilson of Fortville, IN; and Quinten Schulze of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Jake, Vance and Luke Johnson; and Ben and Eli Wilson; sister, Sara Joseph of Santa Barbara, CA; and brother, Bill (Noel) Schulze of Highlands Ranch, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Laura Schulze and Jean Schulze. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28th, at Old Cathedral Catholic Church, 205 Church Street, Vincennes, from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will also be celebrated at Old Cathedral by Father Tony Ernst at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Parish, 106 S 3rd Street, Vincennes, IN 47591; the ALS Association, https://als.org/donate; or Team Gleason Foundation, https://teamgleason.app.neoncrm.com/forms/donate.
