Katherine Ballard

Katherine "Katie" Ballard, 84, of Vincennes, went to be with her Lord on July 20, 2013, from Deaconess Hospital.Katie enjoyed cooking and raising flowers, and was known for her roses. She often shared food, or her flowers, with her friends. She was a member of the Emison United Methodist Church.Born Oct. 10, 1928, she was the daughter of James and Myrtle (Stiles) Powers. Her parents, and her husband of 56 years, John Ballard, preceded her.Surviving are her children, Mike Ballard, and Debbie Ballard, both of Vincennes; a sister, Edith Wilson; nieces, Audra Vuich of Crown Point, IN, Patty Williams of North Carolina, Helen Milly of Evansville, IN, and Helen (Bob) Fuller of Lawrenceville, IL; and a nephew, William Steininger, of Decker, IN.Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 11:00 - 1:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:15, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
