Larry Leroy Daub, a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in Freelandville, Indiana. Born on February 14, 1941, in Decker, Indiana, Larry led a life filled with passion, family, and camaraderie.
A proud owner and operator of Daub Bait Shop, Larry was known for his deep love of fishing. He could talk about fishing for hours, sharing tales and tips with those who shared his passion. Larry particularly enjoyed running drop lines in the river, often finding peace in the gentle ripples of the water. His love for play extended beyond fishing, as he eagerly looked forward to the weekly Canasta game with friends and family, where laughter and friendly competition reigned. He also enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals or Chicago Cubs baseball games.
Larry’s service to his country as a member of the US Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, is a testament to his dedication and commitment. He was a man who wore many hats, but none more important than that of a loving husband, father, and brother.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Delora Daub, along with his children: David (Trina) Daub, Leroy Daub, Lance Daub, and stepchildren Lori Koenig and Phil (Misty) Wallace. Larry's warmth and kindness also extended to his siblings: Marilyn Crouse, Linda Theriac, Evelyn Dick, Delbert (Cheryl) Daub, and Vernon (Betty) Daub. He leaves behind a legacy through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish their memories with him.
