Larry Eugene Mouzin, born on November 20, 1933, was a cherished member of his community who passed away on January 26, 2026. He was a loving father to his daughters Melissa (Roy Hancock) Mouzin-Bennett, Deb (Ken) Cunningham, Pam Gennett, Lynn (Greg) Ellis, and Jackie (Donnie) Foley. Additionally, Larry was a proud grandfather to Xavier (Eden French) Bennett, Brittney Hancock, Caitlin Hancock, Brent Ellis, Mitch (Lauren) Ellis, Matt Ellis, Kyleigh Cunningham, Tamara Littrick, Lauren (Vik) Madan, Bryan (Lisa) Gennett, Adam (Anna) Elkins, Kyle Foley, and Delaney Foley. Larry was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren and his loving sister Selma McClure.
Larry's professional life was marked by his dedication to his craft as he owned and operated Mouzin Barber Shop from 1965 until 2003. As a skilled barber, he left a lasting impression on many in the community who frequented his shop for not just a haircut but a warm conversation and a friendly smile. His contributions to the area went beyond his profession; he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, where he committed time toward community service.
Education was an important aspect of Larry's life. He started his academic journey at St. Thomas School and graduated from Decker High School, embracing the value of learning and growth throughout his life. Larry also served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War, a period that shaped his character and instilled in him values of duty, sacrifice, and service.
Larry remained connected to his faith as a devoted member of Saint Francis Xavier Old Cathedral Catholic Church. His faith guided him through life's challenges and triumphs and served as a cornerstone of his existence.
Passing before Larry are his beloved wives Virginia Lee Mouzin and Rosemary Mouzin, his sisters Patty Mouzin and Ruth Eaton, and his brother Don Mouzin. His legacy also includes his grandson Arthur Hancock, who had a special place in Larry's heart.
Larry's memory will be cherished by all who knew him and loved him. His warm spirit and unwavering commitment to his family and community will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of those left behind.
There will be visitation from 10-11am on February 4, 2026, at Saint Francis Xavier Old Cathedral Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11. Larry will be laid to rest in Memorial Park. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Larry and his family. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Saint Francis Xavier Old Cathedral Church.
