Larry Gene Small, a beloved husband, dedicated veteran, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by his wife Judy and niece Rhonda Bruner. Larry led a life marked by devotion to his family and service to his country in the United States Army.

Larry married his high school sweetheart, Judy, on March 31, 1963, and together they created a home filled with love and laughter. He was known for his kind heart and strong work ethic. For many years, he worked as a truck driver and welder, retiring from Vincennes Steel in 2002.

Larry was a craftsman at heart, finding joy in creating meaningful items. He made crosses out of horseshoe nails, gifting them to his companions during dialysis-gestures that reflected his generous spirit and concern for others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Martha Small, as well as his brothers Jim and Bill Small. Larry is survived by his loving wife Judy and his niece Rhonda Bruner, who will carry forward his memory and the values he embodied.
