Mabel Bonenberger

Mabel Marcile Colee Hook Bonenberger, 86, of Vincennes, passed away at 3:00 am on Monday May 16, 2016 at her residence.She was born March 3, 1930 in Shelby County, Indiana to John and Mary Justine (Burnes) Colee.Mabel was a hard worker and always offered to help someone less fortunate than herself and raised three teenagers on her own. She could grow anything and loved animals.Retiring after 26 years in the maintenance department at Vincennes University, she also had worked at Prestolite Battery Factory for 19 years and belonged to the United Auto Workers.Surviving are her children, Jimmie J. Hook and Vicky Boyer, both of Vincennes; her brothers and sisters, Maude Wagner of Fairland Indiana, Mary Ann Sebastain of Shelbyville, John Colee of Greensburg, George Colee of Odessa, and Marlene Turner of Odessa, TX; her grandchildren; Ivan Bonenberger, Anthony Hook, Aron Hook, Joshua Boyer, Erica Heath, and Michael Tempco; her great grand children, Kieran Bonenberger, Trinity Heath, Dagan Boneberger, Arian Bonenberger, Alexis Heath, Jaxon Heath, and Carter Heath; and her great grandchild, Carter West and Anthony Boyer.Preceding her in death were her parents, and a daughter, Katie Jo Hook Tempco.Mabel requested her body to be cremated.
