Margaret L. (Nowaskie) VanLue went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, Evansville, Indiana. Margie, as her loved ones called her, was born in Vincennes, Indiana on January 27th, 1948 to Donald M. and Mildred L. (Smith) Nowaskie.

She grew up on her family's farm, where she always said she learned the value of hard work and resilience. Margie married the love of her life, Chester "Chet" VanLue on November 49, 1979 and they moved to Winter Haven, Florida in 1984. In Florida, she worked for the Polk County School District until retirement. Margie and Chet spent 31 years in the Sunshine State before moving back to Indiana in 2016, the same year she lost her "Chester". Margie then divided her time between Florida and Indiana for the next 9 years. During that time, she adopted her Elle Mae, an adorable Yorkipoo, who was always by her side or in her lap. Margie's family is going to miss her steadfast support, quiet sense of humor, beautiful smile, and her spit fire personality. Although there is sadness in the air, we know she's home with the Lord and her "Chet".

Margie is survived by 2 stepsons, Greg (Janet) VanLue, Bradenton, Florida, and Terry (Jeanette) VanLue, Vincennes, stepdaughter; Kim Freeman, Georgia; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her sisters, Regina (Lindy) Elliott, Vincennes, Cheryl Charlton, Vincennes, Emma Ravellette, Princeton, IN Millie Patrick, Vincennes, Donna (Daniel) Mackey, Bicknell, IN; brothers, Donald M. Nowaskie Jr., Vincennes and Herbert (Janice) Nowaskie, Vincennes and several nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her adoring husband, parents, three brothers-in-laws, one niece, two nephews, three stepchildren, and a step great grandson.

Funeral services for Margie will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., Vincennes, IN. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
