Marsha Sue Pride, born on January 14, 1963, passed away on June 6, 2026, at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington.
She was born in Washington, IN, to the late Wayne & Frances (Dover) Pride.
Marsha was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington.
She was a graduate of the class of 1981 at Washington High School. Her first job was at the former Hook’s Drugstore where during her breaks she would cross guard at Northside school. She was awarded by the city for saving a child from a near miss hit by a vehicle. While working as a pharmacy technician at Hook’s Drugstore in 1984, she met two of her best friends, Deanna (Merideth) Coleman and Debby Yancey. Together, they worked at Hook’s Drugstore, CVS Pharmacy, and then Daviess Community Hospital together, forming a special bond together. Marsha worked for DCH as a pharmacy technician for the past 27 years.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A heart of gold. A gift of gab. A hard worker. A helping hand and listening ear. A true friend.
Marsha was preceded in death by her loved ones, Laura Ferguson whom she referred to as Mother; Janet Emmick whom she called sister, and her husband Doug.
Those left to mourn her loss include John Cavanaugh IV, her companion of 38 years and family; and her best friend, Martina Fuentes and her family; and her other best friends, Deanna (Merideth) Coleman & Debby Yancey.
Visitation for Martha will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 1:00-5:00pm ET at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. At 5:00pm, a funeral service will begin with Dr. Charles Baxter officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the local animal shelter, or Friends for Animals. Donation envelopes will be provided.
