Marvin Ray Hornaday passed from this life on January 30, 2026 at the age of 73. He was born April 14, 1952 to Roger and Leola Allen Hornaday.

Marvin was raised in Reeve Township, first attending Alfordsville School and then graduating from Barr-Reeve High School. He spent his younger years working on the family farm. The youngest of four siblings, he was the "fun uncle" to his nieces and nephews.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed cars, and hunting mushrooms, birds and small game. In more recent years he liked to watch Nascar and loved attending high school basketball games, with a special fondness for the Barr-Reeve Vikings. He also enjoyed going out to eat with friends and spending time with family.

Marvin loved to laugh big and he loved to make others laugh too. He had a huge heart, was always smiling, and was very kind to all he met.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Linda Eisenhut (Greg Buechlein), Kenneth Hornaday (Jan Barrow), Cheryl (Rodney) Harner, Marsha (John) Clarke, Darin (Heidi) Hornaday and Sarah Hornaday. Also surviving are 5 great nieces and 3 great nephews along with seven great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence Hornaday, Curtis Hornaday and Carol Vowell.

Marvin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
