It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Blessinger, who left us on June 12, 2026, at the age of 84. Mary was born on February 2, 1942, the daughter of John and Mary (Suddeth) Horshia. 

Mary was a proud member of the Central Church of Christ and poured so much love into her community through her work as a homemaker. She had a passion for crafts and was known for her beautiful crocheting, which often adorned the homes of friends and family alike. 

Mary also dedicated many years to leading the Boy Scouts, where she shared her love for adventure and the outdoors with countless children. A natural storyteller, she never missed an opportunity to visit with people and brighten their day with a good joke. Her infectious laughter and warm spirit made her a beloved friend to many.

Survivors include her son, Walter Blessinger, Jr. her grandchildren, Jennifer Philpott and her husband Leon, Matthew Blessinger, Ashley Graham, Josh Pheffer and his wife Chelsea, Gregory Blessinger; and eight great grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter Blessinger, Sr., her daughter, Stephanie Jo Pheffer and several siblings.

Friends may visit with Mary's family from 4-6 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. Mary's graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Phil Nuernberger officiating.
