Mary Lou Hanson

Mary Louise Hanson, 77, of Washington, Indiana passed away surrounded by her family on June 15, 2025. She was born in Washington, Indiana on February 19, 1948, to the late William and Dorothy (Pershing) Allison. Mary Lou graduated from Washington High School in 1966. She continued her education with Purdue University, where she received her bachelor's degree and University of Illinois, where she received her master's degree. Mary Lou married the love of her life, Harry Hanson, on June 13, 1971. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi club, McClure Housing, and West Minister Presbyterian Church. Mary Lou enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, being involved with the Daviess county 4-H and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents William and Dorothy Allison; brothers in law Dan Burch and Tom Dillon.

She is survived by her husband Harry Hanson; children Heather Allender and Hal (Libby) Hanson; grandchildren Hunter Hanson, Hallie Hanson, Grayson Allender, Cooper Allender, Owen Allender; siblings Phyllis Burch, Janet (Roger) Arthur, Diane Dillon; and several friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Hanson. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 11:30- 2 pm at West Minister Presbyterian Church. A Funeral Service will begin promptly at 2 pm with burial at Bethany Cemetery immediately following.
