Merle Ruh

Merle G. Ruh, 84, of Vincennes, passed away at 5:56 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 28, 1926, in Britton, South Dakota, the son of Ervin and Julia (Swinson) Ruh.Merle had worked as a bank manager and for a Title Company all out in California. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bruceville Rod & Gun Club and the VFW. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War.Survivors include his daughter, Cathy (& Raymond) Cantwell of Vincennes; brother, Charles E. Ruh of Clairmont, CA and grandchildren, Michele Campbell and Douglas Cantwell.Preceding Merle in death were his parent; wife, Jean (Fernandez) Ruh who passed away in 2000, and his grandchild, Christopher Campbell.Memorial services will be held Monday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. with Rev. Dan Clemens officiating. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service`
