Miguel Gonterman

Miguel A. Gonterman, 44, passed away at 10:00 pm on July 17, 2021, at Daviess Community Hospital. Miguel was born on March 10, 1977, in Chicago, IL the son of Miguel Martinez and Candace Gonterman. He married Mari Martinez on February 16, 2018. Miguel was of the Catholic faith and was a supervisor for Peabody Coal Company. He loved the outdoors and was especially happy when he was fishing, camping and being on the water. Miguel was very friendly, loved talking to everyone, and would help anyone in their time of need. Survivors include his wife, Mari Martinez of Washington, his father and step-mother, Miguel and Maria Martinez; daughter, Jasmine Gonterman, sons, Anthony Gonterman, Miguel Martinez, and Simba Martinez all of Washington; sisters, Ana Martinez of Indianapolis, IN, Crystal Saldana of Washington, Maria Martinez of Chicago, IL, Alejandra Martinez of Chicago, IL, Alma Martinez of Washington; brothers, Miguel Martinez of Chicago, IL, Anthony Gonterman of Lexington, KY; and his step-sisters, Tina Williams of Vincennes, Amy Keller of Wheatland, and Angie Helderman of Vincennes. Miguel was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Candace and Thomas Cox. Friends may visit with Miguel's family from 2-4 pm on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. Father Juan Ramirez will conduct a service beginning at 4:00 pm on Friday and Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Miguel.
