It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Phillip Lee Haynes, Sr., known affectionately as Fidge, who passed away on January 8, 2026 at the age of 83. Fidge was born on October 16, 1942 in Vincennes and is the son of Charles T. and Anna (Hafford) Haynes. He married Darla Hatton on May 28, 1962.

He had a passion for cars, and whether working on his own or admiring others, he always had a story or a fun fact to share. Additionally, he was known for his skills at the pool table, where he played with the same dedication he brought to all things.

A true handyman, Fidge built many things over the years, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and craftsmanship. His aptitude for math was impressive, and he often used it to tackle various projects, delighting those around him with his talent.
