If you knew Becki Linneweber, you knew she was one of a kind. She loved fiercely, laughed often, and you never quite knew what she was going to say next. She had a quick wit, a wonderful sense of humor, a generous heart, and a way of making the people around her feel loved, welcomed, and completely at home. On August 15, 2026, at the age of 76, Becki passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and the love that meant everything to her.
Becki was born on December 30, 1949, in Steele, Missouri. In 1954, her family relocated to Decker, Indiana, where she grew up and graduated from Decker High School. As a young woman, Becki was a cheerleader, and that spirited, encouraging nature remained a part of who she was throughout her life.
Becki was a talented hairstylist who found a career doing something she truly enjoyed—helping people look and feel their best. Throughout the 1990s and until her retirement in 2010, she was the manager of the JCPenney Salon in Vincennes, IN. Her talent was matched by her ability to connect with people. The women who sat in her chair often became friends, and the relationships she built throughout her career were every bit as meaningful to her as the work itself.
But of all the roles Becki held in her life, the ones she treasured most were wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Becki shared nearly 51 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Gerald “Jerry” Linneweber, the love of her life, who preceded her in death. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, family, and memories that will be treasured forever. Becki especially loved their trips to Florida and their time at the beach. Those getaways gave her some of her happiest memories—sunshine, sea air, and time beside the man she loved.
Her children were the center of her world. Becki was a devoted mother to Jay (Jessica) Linneweber and Carey (Justin Schoonveld) Linneweber. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Emma Linneweber, Marley Schoonveld, and Hunter Mason Linneweber. She cherished every moment with them, from family gatherings and holidays to conversations around the kitchen table and the countless ordinary moments that became the memories they will hold onto forever.
Becki’s love for her family extended to her siblings and their families. She is survived by her sisters Shirley (Ray) Yochum and Faye Driskill, and her brothers Don (Reba) Driskill and Doug (Karen) Driskill.
Her relationship with her brother Don and his wife, Reba, was especially close. Becki and Reba were best friends—far more than sisters-in-law. Becki called Reba her “soul sister,” a name that perfectly described the bond they shared. Through all the years, laughter, family gatherings, good times, and difficult ones, they were there for each other.
Becki was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Linneweber; her parents, Jesse “Woody” and Ada Belle Driskill; her brother Sonny Driskill; her sister Kaye Driskill; and her brother Cotton Driskill.
Becki had a creative and generous spirit. She loved to crochet and took great pleasure in making beautiful handmade keepsakes for the people she loved. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and especially escaping to Florida or the beach. She had a gift for turning everyday moments into memories and never needed much of an excuse to gather the people she loved around her.
Those who knew Becki will remember her for so much more than the roles she held or the things she accomplished. They will remember her laugh, her kindness, her humor, her stories, and her unmistakable personality. They will remember sitting around her kitchen table, family gatherings, trips to the beach, handmade crocheted gifts, and the things she said that could leave everyone laughing—or completely stunned.
Most of all, they will remember how deeply she loved.
Becki gave her family and friends a lifetime of love, laughter, memories, and stories that will be told for generations. Her absence will leave an enormous space in the lives of those who loved her, but so will the love she gave so freely.
Becki was truly one of a kind. There will never be another quite like her.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Becki and her family.
