Rita Jeanne Paitson

Rita Jeanne Paitson, 90, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

She was born on to the late Joseph M. Sullivan, and Mary G. Mann on May 11, 1935 in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Rita was a resident at the Lodge of the Wabash for the past 15 years, and they cherished her presence deeply. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it until she was physically unable to. Rita loved to help others with activities, to watch movies, eat a good hamburger, and take a nice car ride. She was also a member of the Resident Counsil at the Lodge. She never said a bad word about anyone, and was always positive towards others. Rita was extremely proud of her Catholic faith, and enjoyed helping out with masses when she was able. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors of Rita include her children, David Paitson, and Sally Gossett; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary; and her siblings, Ed Sullivan, Winiford Sullivan, Marie Bushur, and Joan G.

Visitation for Rita will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 1:00-2:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home., 524 Broadway St., Vincennes, IN 47591. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 2:00pm with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
