It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Fisher, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who left us on January 27, 2026, on her 77th birthday. Ruth was born on January 27, 1949, in Sullivan, Indiana, the daughter of James Robert and Doris Evelyn (Douthitt) Morrison. She married Gary G. Fisher on June 17, 1989, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2003.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in crafts, bingo, and music, which brought her happiness during her time at Bridgepointe.

Survivors include her children, Cresta Catiller and her husband Gilbert, Michelle Paris, Brandy Fisher, Michael Fisher and his wife Elizabeth all of Vincennes; her grandchidren, Zach Nickless and his fiancee Rebecca Hansen, Grace Catiller, Colton Fisher, Katelyn Carney and her husband Patrick; and her great granddaughter, Vivian Carney. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris Morrison, her husband, Gary G. Fisher, and three brothers, Carl, Steve and Jim Morrison. 

Friends may visit with Ruth's family from 9:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband Gary in Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Ruth and her family.
