Shirley Pierce

Shirley E. Pierce, 75, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Prairie Village Nursing Home in Washington, IN. Born December 29, 1935, in Gas City, IN, she was the daughter of Woodrow and Ellen (Beeks) Fisher.Shirley was a licensed practical nurse having worked for Good Samaritan Hospital and she also sat for elderly people. She was a member of Southside Presbyterian Church and the Veteran of Foreign Wars. She was also a volunteer for Hospice.Survivors include two daughters, Diana J. Cardinal and her companion, Roger Wright of Vincennes and Elizabeth Fiscus and her husband, Michael of Claremont, IL; stepdaughter, Susan Eakins of Vincennes; sister, Nancy Scott of Marion, IN, Jenny Kimmel of Vincennes and Katherine Jones of Vincennes; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Preceding Shirley in death were her parents; son, Colin Rivers and sister, Patricia Miller.There will be no public service.
