Steven "Stevie" Michael Cox, age 67, was welcomed into his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family, on the beautiful morning of April 2, 2026, at St. Vincent's Ascension Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Stevie was a lifelong resident of Washington, Indiana, and a proud graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1977. He dedicated many years of service as superintendent of the wastewater treatment plant for the City of Washington. Later, he continued his career at NWSC Crane, where he served as a leader of the wastewater treatment plant until his retirement.
On May 19, 1990, Stevie married the love of his life, Christina Webster Cox. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Stevie was known for his loyalty, humor and always lending a helping hand. He always had a smile for you. A talented mechanic and electrician, he could fix just about anything. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his precious granddaughters, especially fishing with them, as well as mushroom hunting, enjoying the outdoors, and gathering with family and friends on his front porch for games and laughter.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Christina; his cherished daughters, Malinda (Blain) Healy and Erica Cox; and his precious granddaughters, Mylah Healy and Chloe Cox. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Lonnie (Donna)Cox; Vickie (Ron) Bough; and Debra Cox Walker (Tom Perry), along with many nieces and nephews he also loved dearly.
Stevie was preceded in death by his parents, George Lee and Evelyn Darlene Cox.
