Thomas E. Abrams Sr., 94, of Vincennes, passed away at 12:00 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 15, 1928, in Carlisle, Indiana to Lloyd and Anna (Jerrells) Abrams. Tom graduated from Carlisle High School in 1946 and was a member of the Oaktown Methodist Church and the Oddfellows Lodge #50. He served as a Master Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War serving on the front lines from 1950 to 1952. After returning from the military, he started his farming career until his retirement and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are his wife Virginia (Bateman) Abrams whom he married October 18, 1952; his children, Tammie Twitty and her husband Cary of Vincennes and Teri Bushta and her husband Mike of Florida; his daughter in-law Michele Abrams of Oaktown; his brother Stanley Abrams of Carlisle; his sister Marilyn McCammon of Wabash, IN; and his grandchildren Lee VanSweringen, Heather Machemer, Gabbie Clark, Craig Twitty, Sarah Donnoe, Ashley Abrams; two step grandchildren, Brandy Petel and Jason Petel; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Tommy Abrams; and his siblings Dorothy Ault, Doris Inman, William Abrams and Charles Abrams. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 12, 2022, at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes with John Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with visitation from 12:00 pm until the service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or Oddfellows Lodge #50. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with his arrangements.
