Violet Douglas

Violet V. Douglas, 93, of Vincennes, passed away at 11:17 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Gentle Care Nursing Center.She was born February 12, 1921 in Lawrence County, Illinois to Bill and Ruth (Pargin) Rogers.Violet was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a pink lady at Good Samaritan Hospital.Surviving are her sons, Stanley (Ruth) E. Douglas of Wadesville, IN, and Michael R. (Linda) Douglas of Fort Neches, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.Preceding Violet in death was her parents; her husband, Stanley L. Douglas, whom she married on August 12, 1940; a son, James L. Douglas, two brothers, and two sisters.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. EDT Friday October 31, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Tromley officiating.
