Walter "Tony" Anthony Kaiser, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Vincennes, Indiana, on January 6th 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born on August 14, 1962, in Carlisle, Indiana, to Walter "Fat" and Doris Kaiser (Turpen). He graduated from Sullivan High School in Sullivan, Indiana, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Indiana State University. After teaching for a few years, Tony began a long and successful career as Plant Manager at Kwick Kleen, also known as Restoration Chemicals, where he worked for 20 years. He later worked for Toyota before proudly stepping into what he considered his final and favorite role-full-time Papaw.
Tony had a deep love for sports and family time. He rarely missed watching his St. Louis Cardinals each baseball season, whether from his living room or in the stadium during family vacations. He was also a devoted Indianapolis Colts and Purdue Boilermakers fan. In his free time, Tony enjoyed fishing with friends and family, golfing, and was part of a bowling team at Fort Sackville Bowling for many years.
Above all else, Tony loved his family. Including his faithful companion Jasmine. He made it a priority to create meaningful memories with his children and grandchildren-moments that will continue to be smiled about, laughed over, and cherished for years to come.
Tony is survived by his wife, Amy Kaiser (Cockerham); his children, Zachary (Charlotte) Kaiser of Vincennes, Indiana, and Kelly Cockerham of Vincennes, Indiana; his sisters, Connie (Jim) Wampler of Sullivan, Indiana, Janice (Terry) Nash of Sullivan, Indiana, and Patty Dorris of Shelburn, Indiana; and his five beloved grandchildren, whom he considered his very best buddies in the whole world-Nathan, Bryian, Ashton, Bryleigh, and Liana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter "Fat" and Doris Kaiser; his brother, Donald Kaiser; his sister, Mary Kay "Katie" Vandergriff; his infant daughter, Kelsey Kaiser; his granddaughter, Morgan Rinderle; and his brother-in-law, Tom Dorris.
Tony was a devoted husband, father, brother, Papaw, and friend whose kindness, patience, and presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was the kind of person who showed up, who listened without judgment, and who quietly put others before himself. Tony's love, humor, and dedication to his family will live on through the stories shared and the memories held close. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Friends may visit with Tony's family from 4-6 pm on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation beginning at 6:00 pm. Online memories may be shared with Tony's family and friends at www.goodwin sieversfh.com.
