William "Bill" Robert Halter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Halter, a loving father and a cherished friend, who left us on May 20, 2026, at the age of 65. William was born on June 6, 1960, and spent his life in Vincennes, IN, where he touched the lives of many with his kind spirit and warm smile.

William was proud of his family and devoted to his children-sons Larry Halter wife April, Robert Halter, Danny Halter, two daughters Kelly Seals husband Cody, and Cara Padgett, 13, grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He carried the title of "Dad" with immense pride, nurturing and supporting his children with love and wisdom. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through them.

Bill loved to play pool, he was an avid hunter and loved to fish. He loved to take engines apart at the kitchen table and have them running, he was a jack of all trades. Bill loved the outdoors and along with his kids and grandchildren being his pride and joy! He would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone. Loving his animals along with driving his semi across the country was something he enjoyed doing.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, allowing an opportunity for all who knew him to pay their respects and share in the fond memories.

In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Bill's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved so dearly. He will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear Bill.

Bill was preceded in death by: his father, Maurice Halter and mother Ruby Bell Ott. Goodwin Sievers is honored and privileged to serve the family of William "Bill" Halter.
