William E. “Wes” Summers II, 56, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on June 18, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on July 4, 1969, to William E. & Beverly (Brown) Summers in Washington, Indiana.
Wes was a 1988 graduate of Washington high school where he played football, basketball and sang in the choir. Following high school, he obtained his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in computer science. Wes spent his career working as an Information Technology professional. After graduating from Indiana, he worked at NSWC Crane before transferring to California where he lived for several years. He transferred back to Indianapolis in 2007 where he worked for the Defense Finance Accounting Service at Ft. Benjamin Harrison. His final job was with Ferguson Enterprises before retiring in 2023.
He attended church at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN. In his free time, Wes enjoyed playing video games, and watching sports, particularly the Kansas City Chiefs, Toronto Blue Jays, and IU football and basketball. In his younger years, Wes played cribbage competitively entering and winning a number of tournaments on the West Coast.
Wes was preceded in death by his father, William E. Summers.
He is survived by his mother, Beverly Summers; his sister, Cindy Mason and her husband Jeff; his nephews and niece, Brad Mason and his wife Hunter, Hannah Foster and her husband Jacob, Stephen Mason; his great-niece, Julia Foster.
A private family service will be held for Wes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorial contributions to be made to Our Community Foundation to the William and Beverly Summers Daviess County YMCA Endowment Fund.
